White House Battles Trademark, Copyright Infringement
Obama administration aims to stop intellectual property violators with a multi-agency, international initiative.

The Obama administration has launched an effort to protect intellectual property by working across agencies and nations to fight civil and criminal violations of trademark and copyright infringement.
According to the article written by Elizabeth Montalbano of Information Week, the government’s plan “calls for better communication between law enforcement agencies and those affected by copyright and trademark infringement. It also aims to enhance the collaboration between international organizations and law-enforcement officials and the United States to crack down on IP violations, as well as to dedicate agency resources to improving data collection to enforce infringement laws.”

Naked Cowboy to Naked Cowgirl: Cease and Desist
The infamous Naked Cowboy, who strolls around Times Square in a cowboy hat and little else, claims a Naked Cowgirl claiming copyright infringement.
According to Sandy Kane, the Naked Cowgirl, she planned to team up with Robert Burck, the originator of the Naked Cowboy. She claims she refused to sign a franchise agreement and he backed out.
This is not Burck’s first rodeo in the legal system. He sued Mars over an animated M&M character he claimed resembled him.
